toilet training

We got our BC/husky cross almost a week ago, and while there have been odd 'accidents' she has generally been good about 'going potty' outside. We used praise/treats to accomplish this, but now we would like her to only do her 'business' in one spot, so we are not dodging 'doggy do do' when we walk down our yard. We are not too worried about where she urinates, but don't want to have to use the pooper scooper out for every part of our lawn. Does anyone have an idea of how to do this? I have tried putting Miya on the leash and standing in the area I would like her to go, but she has only urinated there, and done the 'other' twice on our family bathroom floor. :( She is very affectionate, friendly and eager to please. She learnt to 'sit and give paw' in one day using treats/praise and has learnt to 'sit and wait' while we we enter the house first. We can't wait till she has her final shot in 4 weeks time to take her to the park to play ball and frisbee. We also plan to go off in our camper for Thanksgiving weekend with her. If Miya wanders off somewhere in the house by herself, I am paranoid about what she is up to, and have to follow and see. She has slept in our bedroom since we got her, although I would like eventually to move her out, in to the living room, once I know she can be trusted not to 'go potty' or chew anything in there. So far, she has not done either in our bedroom, although the first night she did 'pee' in the master bathroom, beside the toilet of all places. I joked, if only she had of lifted the lid and gone down the toilet! I have no idea what a BC/husky will be like, personality/traits wise, as I have only ever had a BC before, many years ago, when I was a kid. When we took Miya to the vet, for her first shots, and she read that she was a BC/husky she said that she was a 'crazy dog', which kinda worried me. :? Does anyone have any idea on how to train Miya to get busy in just one place in our back yard, and also how to let us know when she needs to go. I know some dogs whimper, or whine at the door to let you know.
