Biscuits from Milwaukee Humane Society

I would just like to tell everyone about the wonderful, adorable, VERY MELLOW bc I adopted last spring. I had recently lost my Australian Shepherd to old age and kidney failure. I had been cruising the Milwaukee Humane Society web site every day for about a month, when I spotted a photo of the most adorble Border Collie. He was listed as being about 10 months old. He reminded me a lot of my Aussie, except that the bc was black and white and my Aussie had been tri-colored. To make a long story short, I called my husband at his work and told him I had spotted the dog I wanted. We agreed to "check him out" after my husband came home from work at 4:00 p.m. However, the dog was so cute I just knew he would not be at the shelter by the time we got there at 5:00, so I cancelled a couple work appointments that morning and my daughter and I raced to the humane society ( about 45 minutes from my home) to get there right at opening time. We looked at all the sweet dogs up for adoption, but knew the border collie was the one for us.

When my husband came home from work, he found me in the yard, cuddling our new dog in my lap.
Biscuits was a stray who was picked up in Indiana and brought to the shelter in Milwaukee. He is an absolutely beautiful black and white bc with two dew claws on each back foot! He is the sweetest dog ever. He is extremely well behaved and very loving. He almost never barks ( He did not bark at all for the first two months we had him!) He loves to cuddle. He has a rescue sister, a beautiful Old English Sheepdog. They make the cutest pair, romping in the yard together. She is older and bigger, so she bosses him around, but he takes it good naturedly. They both love the snow and we have had a lot of it this winter! They both sleep on the bed with us at night, Jazzy, the sheepdog at the foot of the bed and Biscuits cuddled up tight against me.

Biscuits was wary of my husband at first, but now he adores him and our daughter. Like many border collies, he is a bit wary of stangers. He is smart and curious. We could not ask for a better dog.
I knew he was meant for us the minute I saw his picture on the humane society website.
He is truly a find!!

Hi:

I am new to this forum and this isn't an animal rescue story per se' but I chanced upon your posting, and having come across the following corresponding post
http://www.paw-talk.net/forums/f9/borde ... 22262.html from someone looking to help rescue a border collie, I thought I should advise he public to always, always post in public forums, classified, etc. when you chance upon a collie rescue situation as you never know who's out there who can help rescue or tip you off to a potential border collie rescue situation.

That's my 2 cents for now, and thanks for reading this.
