Just a friendly update: Blind/Deaf BC Pup

New postby ichthy9 on Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:19 am

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to send a HELLO and update on Kermit, who is the blind/deaf pup adopted early this January from SteppinStone BC Rescue in Wisconsin.

Life is going really well - we're finally on the complete mend and turned into an amazingly great dog... We had some seriously bad demodex and a perineal hernia that were treated and healed super! Amazing what a good dermatologist and a good surgeon can do! ;) We're neutere and happy otherwise wreaking havoc on my sister BlueGirl (actually, he NEEDS her and loves her.. the bond is fantastic!) and she tolerates me just fine...
I am leash trained and go hiking regularly in state parks (with my leash of course...) and was trained wth a vibrating collar for recalll when in the yard... Not sure if we'll ever try the offleash recall but that's ok. He doesn't even know what it means to have leashless freedom (out of the yard)and we'll keep it that way!

Need to figure out how to upload pictures. He'd love to show off a bit! :)

He's a pretty boy. It's wonderful that he has a loving home and a doggy friend! Great story.
