Willing to transport New Mexico area

Post here to volunteer your services to assist in the transport of rescue dogs. Be specific in distance/area willing to travel from your location. Also helps to include if you will keep a dog overnight, when/where you regularly travel, etc.

Willing to transport New Mexico area

New postby Seelie Fey on Sat Feb 09, 2008 12:01 am

Vehicle: Honda CRV
Extra Crates: Yes
Willing to pull from shelter: As long as its legal and above board.
Availability Distance: Three hours one way
Availablity Time: Weekends only
Location: Albuquerque NM
Willing to overnight a dog: Yes, if necessary

Special notes: Occassionally travel to AZ, NV, UT, TX to flyball tournaments and willing to stuff an extra dog in one way.

Suggestion for Board Admin: I like the idea of having this information on the board, but I would suggest that requests for transport be separated from volunteers to transport for ease of searching.

I'm not willing to post personal contact information on a public message board, but if a rescue who pulls dogs from the area wants my information to have on hand that rescue can pm me for the info.

I suspect that if we could have a link to an Excel type spreadsheet with volunteers by screen name, location, distance willing to travel, etc., it would be helpful. However, I have no clue how to accomplish that. I can do Excel and Access, but not web stuff.

If it helps anyone, I am planning on traveling from Albuquerque NM to Hurricane, Utah and back for a flyball tournament. I will have my dogs and stuff in the car, but could fit a crate, if necessary. I'll be traveling Westward on 24 Oct and Eastward on 27 Oct.

I understand your reluctance to post personal info online.
I'm in the Abq area and am SEARCHING for a new dog; I'm looking for another rescue (lost my heart dog in early Aug) but I'm not a Rescue Org. During the last couple of months, most of them seem to be in Texas, and I have a bad car.
Would you be willing send your info to ME? sos_panyol@yahoo.com Please?
Thanks for offering to help.

Actually, I'm going the other direction, so I wouldn't be much help :D However, there are several border collies and mixes in the albuquerque pounds right now, and they pop up in the East Mountain and valencia county (Los Lunas) as well. Someone gave me this link, once, and checking it out led me to Seelie at the Albuquerque Eastside Shelter a little over a year ago:

Good Luck!

Thank you anyway.
I've been in contact with Bro and Tracy for over 2 months now; also I've been checking all the local shelters every single day, as well as petfinder and the papers --even Craigslist. No luck at all.

There are a couple of dogs in Texas I'm looking at right now, and I could really use some transport help.

I appreciate your encouragement.
