I forwarded Jill's request for assistance to Donna Dravland - a volunteer in that area that helps us out. Catoosa is pretty spot on about things - they are not scattered or easily confused. If Darla says the dog has rescue, he most likely does. Donna said she'd help in whatever way she could and would check on him, but might be waiting to do so until she hears back from Jill on arrangements.

There are a few groups including ours that support Catoosa - it could be Ruffus Rescue or one of the other groups that has an interest in herding breeds. It's not me that is pulling him, that's about all I can verify for sure.

Note from Donna below. Not sure who DJ is, but Ike is safe.

Just got confirmation from the shelter, too. They just told me "private rescue." I'm just glad he is safe :) Thanks for all the add'l info Rachael.

I mentioned this under "Que's" thread but wanted to also bump Ike back up since he is still listed on the shelter's PetFinder page. Perhaps they are just behind on updating their listings but I am a little concerned about poor Ike. I tried to find a home page or something for the Bark N Ride rescue that was mentioned above but could not locate anything.

I did learn that Bark N Ride is a boarding facility in Rocky Face, GA that often boards dogs bound for transport. Very strange that he's still on the website, tho. Would be curious to know if the rescue didn't come through, or he presented dog-dog issues, or what if anything happened....

Hi,

Just saw this post about Ike. I did not realize that you were interested in rescuing him. He still needs rescue. A woman by the name of Stefanie Klein has sponsored Ike. I believe he is just being neutered now.

Can you find him a home? I believe he is doing better. He is still at Bark n Ride.

DJ, why is Ike still at the Bark n Ride facility - did his rescue fall through?

Have you met him? Is there any additional information on him? If he is just waiting on transport, there are some here who might help. Please let us know more about him and his situation if you can ~

Hey everybody,

It seems Ike needs our help. He was pulled into boarding but has no place to go, and he needs to move this week. I am still getting as many details as I can, but Ike is *not* in rescue at this time. Here are a couple pics of him - he certainly has the BC lean and the BC belly-up traits ;)

Can anyone help?

What happened to Ike? PF says NLA. I hope he didn't fall through the cracks.

Ike came very close to falling through the cracks....

Sandra is picking up Ike on Monday, and she'll get an assessment of him. Although he doesn't have an open foster spot to go to, he's been "stuck in boarding" for the last month as it turns out, so he needs out of that situation. Once his health and temperament are known, it will be time to seek a place for him. Jill is his fallback plan, but is fuller-than-full.

So, look for more info on Ike next week!

Damned outrageous is what it is! Three times in 8 days I've been in that part of GA and could have pulled Ike had I known about him.

If I understand correctly what happened here, someone called the shelter, told them to have a volunteer take Ike (and apparently other dogs) to Bark N Ride where after a few days of pre-paid boarding and maybe some shots they were abandoned. I wonder how many BC's and others Sandra might find when she gets to Bark N Ride.

There may be unpaid bills for Ike at Bark N Ride. Let me know if there are and if we need a fund to "bail" Ike out.

God help the non-BC's put into this predicament. By removing the dogs from the shelters the people who did this removed the dogs from the radar screen - the dogs in essence became "invisible" to the legitimate rescue community.
