Well, can't seem to get the gliche worked out of the paypal link, yet, so if it isn't working and you would like to help the address is:

All Border Collie Rescue
174 S. Walden Elm Circle
The Woodlands, TX 77382

He is fighting like crazy, he's eating, which is a great sign, still on fluids, strong antibiodics and lots of other meds, when you visit him, he just lays his little head in your lap so sweet and wags his tail. He is a very sick boy, very weak, but he at least knows he's loved and cared for now regardless of the outcome.
Next 24 hours will be critical the Vet said.

Prayers please.

Toby is still fighting. He is still eating and the vets at My Family Vet are taking amazing care of him. I got to sit with him this morning and he wagged tail and put his head in my hand. His eyes tell the sad, sad story, but I hope they will soon shine with the hope of his future. I want to bring this little soul home and take care of him. Pray that it will happen!!

Hi:

Oh Penny, hang in there...your efforts are amazing, thanks for the pictures. Can you get a hold of a St. Benedict medal to place on his cage...see history below:

"The medal of St. Benedict, propagated anywhere in the world for more than 300 years, especially by the Benedictine monks, has been famous by its extraordinary effectiveness against the demon and his manifestations; in the defense against curses of all sort, against diseases, specially the contagious ones, against snake bites and other animals; in the protection of domestic animals, vehicles, etc.":

I put one on Astro's crate when he was diagnosed w/Heartworms and have continued to keep it there -- we are a few weeks into post-treatment and he is responding well. As a Hospice Nurse, I can tell you we never the know the outcome but we need to have Faith and hope for the best outcomes. I attached a picture of St. Benedict...I love it as it looks likes he is looking down at the one's in need -- print/laminate it if you want and keep it close.

Well, your prayers are helping. Toby felt so good that he chewed his catheter out. He is drinking and eating well enough that they have elected not to replace it. Very good news, indeed!
He is not out of the woods, for sure, but he is responding to the meds. He is going to get to go home and continue some intensive nursing care and meds. That is Huge! I know being out of the shelter and Vet Clinics is bound to improve his outlook on life. He's still very weak and will just be crate rested with potty breaks, lots of meds and lots of groceries, you cannot believe how skinny he is, I mean I can't believe he was being fed in the shelter since 8/24 and he looks like he does.
We are cautiously optimistic at this point, see how he gets through the weekend, hope he can stay home while he improves.

Poor guy has to go through HW treatment, too, but that's much later at this point. Not to mention, he still has to be neutered. So, he's not finished by a long shot as a regular at the Vet clinic, but I am so happy that he is feeling a little better.

Please keep your prayers and well wishes coming his way, he's a special guy, he is.

Poor guy - that's a lot for any pup to put up with, but I guess neutering will be the least of his worries at that point. I am so encouraged by the news that he is feeling well enough to act like, well, a normal dog would who had to deal with all this stuff. Keep up the good fight Toby....and Lesia! Bless you for taking this on.

I'm so glad to hear he is feeling better. Is Penny going to foster him through his recovery and HW treatment?

Penny is picking him up tomorrow, God willing, and taking him to her house. We'll play it by ear from there, see how his recovery goes, hopefully, just keeps getting better. I'll take one of her fosters to give her more time to spend with him, plus she's trying to keep him somewhat isolated from her other dogs just to be on the safe side.
Thanx everyone who has sent well wishes and prayers and donations, I will keep you updated.

Poor sweet Toby is quite the fighter, but he is not coming around as well as we all were hoping he would, not eating well, he is on his way back to the Vet, back on fluids, I suspect. Always got a tail wag and a kiss for you.
Keep praying for this sweet boy, he is putting in the effort, that's for sure.
