This is Rocky. He is neutered and microchipped. He was adopted out of our shelter a few years ago and was returned on Friday because they had a special needs child and Rocky began to growl at him when he was near his food or treats and they obviously were concerned since their child has down syndrome and its hard for him to understand the boundaries. They said he is a very good dog but just didn't want anything to happen which would put both of them in a bad situation. His owner said that Rocky loved his farm home and loved going out on the farm with his owners and always stayed close-by. Rocky does not do well with cats but he is good with other dogs. Thanks for following up with Rocky--getting him HW tested is a great idea, and I hope the news is good on that front.

I'm happy to hear he's HW- but it's not clear to me why you wanted to know. Are you pulling him to foster? Are you adopting?

I wanted to know because I thought a negative report would increase his chances of being adopted. I have not submitted a Midwest BC foster application yet, but I could probably foster one dog if it did not have special needs. I have two young dogs, a lab and an Aussie (maybe alpha), and would be gone for about 10 hours a day during the week. The shelter said they could let me foster him, but I would rather foster through Midwest if that could work out. Sorry, this is new to me. Any advice is appreciated.

I went by to see Rocky after work and was told that a rescue, Two by Two (know them?), was pulling him in the morning, and he was going to the Chicago area for adoption. They were arranging transport today. It was pretty definite. Yay!!! He will be a much happier boy.

Thanks for checking on Rocky and for updating us! I do not know of that rescue personally, but I am really happy to hear that he has rescue!
