hi any one out there who can help me i've already have 2 bc's my daughter has a 6months bc he pee's every where if any one comes in he pee's he never lets us know that he wants out
i've took him to the vets and he says there's nothing wromg with him
but all i do is clean his mess up
will he calm down as he gets older or is this his trade mark
i'm not new to the breed i've had bc's since 2000
so i know the breed just never come across 1 like him

You probably need to describe the problem a little more.

Some dogs pee when excited. Some never ourgrow it.

Is he peeing, marking, or excited peeing?

You can change routines... or just work with the going out thing. I have angel to a 30 second pee/poop. She knows when the offer is given she best get going, else when my time frame is up, there will no longer be the oppurtunity. A lot of owners, let dogs out, but the last thing on the dogs mind is actually peeing. They can smell, run around, etc. I try and establish pee first, play later.

I have had three Border Collies, all three went through the same excited peeing phase. I learned from experience that ignoring the dog when first coming in really helps cut down on the frequency. After the dog is a little bit more calm, then ask for a sit or toss a toy, anything to get the dog off of obsessing about saying hello, if the dog is doing something, he is not peeing. For the guests who will not ignore the dog or insist on looming over the dog to say hello, they must greet the dog outside. Try not to clean up the pee while the dog is with you. Do not punish the excited peeing. Luke outgrew the excited peeing at ten months, Ben out grew it by one year (although there were two 'loomers' that could always make him pee) and Jazz is 11 months old and has not excited pee for a couple of months. I have learned to warn people that the pup will pee and to please ignore him until he has calmed down a little bit before they (calmly) say hello.
