AL BC Rescue update

New postby ystat on Mon Oct 13, 2008 9:50 am

We want to thank everyone who helped us to rescue our newest addition to the family. We named our new kid "Stryker:" and she's doing GREAT! We got her to the Vet on Saturday and doc'ed her up. She came in with Kennel cough and a bad case of hook worms but she got all the medicine needed to get her going. 3 days later she's bright, happy, super energetic and eats like a horse!
From what we've gathered so far, she has a strong "ball" motivation (Already fetching at 4 months) and is great on lead and recall {she's brilliant of course}.
She's already been accepted by Gracie (her new sister) and the kitties are slowly warming up to her. She has an incredible life waiting for her but she wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't for the heroic efforts of the BC rescue community. MANY thanks go out to Terry who shuttled her from AL to SC. Thank you! and thanks to everyone else who assisted. Little Stryker now has a warm home and a loving family!

Congratulations on your new family member, and thank you for choosing to go rescue! (I'm thinking she will soon grow into those ears! She's a beauty already.) Happy endings keep us going on the board. Thanks for sharing yours.

Congrats, and thanks for sharing photos of what is obviously a very happy ending to a rescue story. What gorgeous doggies. Both appear to be laughing in the second photo (did you just tell them a joke?) All three of you look very happy. Best wishes.

Life may not be the party we hoped for,
But we can dance anyway!
