I picked him up yesterday afternoon, stinky & matted.
He doesn't mind being groomed - that's good because I spent all evening brushing and cutting out mats. If I pulled too hard, he just nose my hand away. The bath was sorta frightening. Being rubbed all over with soap was great but the being sprayed with water is terrifying.

Here is some "after bath" shots. He didn't want to look at the camera.

Awwww...sweet old Bubba! You don't know it yet, but you're on the way to a MUCH better life, with the love and care of all the great rescuers who are dedicated to helping you find a new forever home!!

Bubba is a very sweet boy!

He seems to have never been leash trained. He's smart enough to try every escape tactic but I'm smarter - I can carry 40 pounds.
Bubba is very food motivated. It's slower than picking him up but at least he's moving forward.

I took him to the vet this morning. I put him on the table and he was great. He even gave me chin licks while there. He's in mostly good health for a BC 8-10 years old.

Oh, wow! He sure looks like he's got a lot of coat, even after your grooming marathon yesterday, Jean. I can only imagine what he looked like when you picked him up.

I'm glad to hear his overall health is good, and I wish you luck with the continued leash training.

I guess i am crossing the bridge between smoothies (where I started) and rough coats (where I am now) the after results of Bubbas grooming are stunning,what a handsome boy he is!!! Thank goodness for food motivation, he should be keeping up with you soon, and he seems to be rolling along with the changes. Thanks for your time and patience with him,Jean and everyone else working on getting him down here.
