OH no-name now Bob= furever in WV

Just a quick update on our new and 1st BC. Except he might be Aussie. I'm hoping and calling him BC/Aussie mix. Not Aussie/BC mix.
He was at my local shelter, stray, came home w/ me for pics and an eval, but never left. Hubby named him Bob. He has no tail. He goes with us on our trucking job, along with the resident Brittany 10 month boy. We got him vetted, neutered, and on HW preventative. He is a wonderful boy. The vet thinks he might be 6 mths or 1-1 1/2 yrs. I think he's a year or a tad over.
His original post is now in adopted, "No-name Gallia County AS, OH BC/Aussie mix??"
He slinks. Not so much now, but he seems like to always think he might be in trouble. Ears are down a lot.
Doesn't like the camera. Doesn't like the water hose. Wouldn't get in the car, truck, farm utility veh., or big truck (that was fun, 1st trip) but now you can't keep him out of any of above! He can jump into the tractor trailer if he wants to! He easily clears the deck rail. :(
He will run at all the livestock, not always, but a lot. He barks, and lunges at them. When I have brought him out in the pasture with me, got behind the stock (cows or horses) and started moving them myself he just walks with me. Doesn't herd or chase them then!?!? (I will be asking for tips to try and train him to work the stock, but that will be a different place and time, right now he doesn't have a reliable recall or long distance down. Or alot of other basic stuff.)
He gets along with dogs, cats and people, except last weekend 3 people came to visit, sister, bro-in-law and their son (29) and Bob hid in the deck corner, and peed while slinking to come to me for introductions. First time I have seen this behavior. Got over it quick enough and with in a half hour was snuggling and lap climbing.
He knows no. He doesn't get on the bed even though the britt does. He shares toys, food, water with the britt. He does get between us or whom ever when britt is being petted. Gotta pet him too!
Well, this isn't my idea of quick, so I'll try and add some pics and Cya later.
I seem to be having problems, either huge or thumbnail, and the 3 pic limit. It previews w/ more than 3, so I'll try this.
Pic 1 at shelter. Others after haircut. Pic 2 Bob's feeling at home. Last pic was first trip on big truck, Bob watching his new world.
Any and all comments/ideas/advice welcomed!!!

What a lucky boy!! He is beautifull whatever the mix. Welcome to the board

They all come with the querks and different intensities with various things. He may be reacting the way he is also d/t lack of exposure & never having seen such things before. If he is callm & following you while moving the herd along... he is doing this also becuase of your calm energy you are sharing.. IF he is acting the other way... what level of excitment is around him??
I've never had onese to train for hearding etc.. but have for agility. Some are have hight instinct for herding.. more than others. There is a wealth of information on this site from various posts :))

There is also a section for dealing with behavours etc... so this migth be where it is best for you to post your dealins with his behaviours & escalting etc...
Sounds like you have a perfect boy for your home... and with time and patience he will find an even better groove .

Thanks for your comment! I love to hear other's ideas and opinions.
He is a trip, he's opening up more and more every day. I will post in the behaviors, I've got a pic of him lunging for the cows. He has been caught once out in the pasture herding?? chasing?? them but so far he does not hurt even the babies. He is not often out there w/out me, so that was a first. He came to me immediately when called.
I'd say we're lucky people to have been rescued by him :D
