I am visiting my parents in Oxford, near Oxford College/Emory University in Newton County Georgia. It is also close to Covington, Georgia. My 5 1/2 year old black and white border collie (mostly black with a small amount of white at the edge of her paws and a crooked thin white blaze on her nose) escaped from my parent's fenced-in backyard sometime this afternoon. I was gone and returned around 5:30pm and she was not in the backyard. The only thing we can think is she climbed the woodpile and jumped the fence (which she has NEVER done). We think she was trying to find me.
We have frantically searched for the last 2 hours, but we can no longer see due to darkness.
She has on a collar, but her ID tag has fallen off, and I have failed to replace it - something I will never allow to happen again.
Her collar is a RED nylon collar and she has a silver metal training collar on as well. Her name is Whimsy. She was rescued from this site 5 years ago. We drove from GA to LA to get her. My family and children are terribly distraught. If you happen to see her or hear of a dog matching this description please contact me!
We have called the local police, plan to call Animal Control on Monday as well as the local veterinarians, one of whom I used to work for. If you have any more suggestions, please offer your advice. We just want to find her!
THANK YOU!
