SEE BELOW FOR THEIR REQUIREMENTS AND FEES!!!!!!!!!!!
Dogs that are not on stray hold can be PTS on Wednesdays. For any rescue or adopter that wants to have a dog tagged for them by Halfway Home Rescue, an email must be sent to Latichia Duffy by 4 pm CST Tuesdays.
IF AN EMAIL IS NOT SENT TO TAG A DOG BY 4:30pm CST ON TUESDAYS, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THE DOG WILL BE SAFE THE NEXT MORNING FROM EUTH. All emails sent to tag a dog will get confirmation during the shelters open hours.
Animals in the "Currently Housed" are still on stray hold and not available for release until their 5 day hold is up, which has to include one full Saturday stay. Once they are moved to the "Our Adoptable" list on Petfinder they are considered urgent!

HAVING A DOG PULLED BY HALFWAY HOME RESCUE POLICIES.
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POLICY (UPDATED 5-27-11):
THE SPRINGFIELD DOGS WILL HAVE ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING… WHIP, HOOKS, TAPE OR ROUND WORMS AS WELL AS OTHER INTESTINAL PARASITES SUCH AS GIARDIA OR COCCIDIA SO YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR RESCUED DOGS CHECKED AND TREATED UPON ARRIVAL. ALSO KENNEL COUGH AND OR UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION THAT COULD TAKE WEEKS OR MONTHS TO CLEAR!!
** There is a $15.00 pull fee for each animal…the pull fee covers dhlp, bordetella and rabies (if old enough.)
**Boarding is available at $7.00 per day per animal.
ALL the dogs that come from the Springfield pound WILL HAVE KENNEL COUGH!
**We will start the dogs on antibiotics $2.20 per day per dog…some dogs recover quickly while others may take a few weeks OR EVEN MONTHS.
**Some dogs require extra care while at our facility such as worming, flea medication etc…this will cost extra but I always try to talk with the receiving rescue before administering anything beyond the basics. The receiving rescue would be responsible for all additional care expenses.
**All transports require health certificates which cost $20.00 per animal.
**Leash and collar is required for all transport so are required unless you are picking up the animal. The cost is $5.00 for the pair.
**A copy of your 501 c 3 and or rescue licenses from your state is required.
**ALL invoices must be paid the night before transports leave…We use paypal for all our transactions.
**We DO NOT TRANSPORT so arrangements must be made for pick up at our Collins Missouri location.
We are happy to assist with dogs that are coming from the pound but want everyone to know our facility is all outdoor, with dog houses and hay when there is cold weather.
Our shelter was completed in May 2010 and burned Dec. 27, 2010 so we have NO indoor facility at this time.
**ALL the dogs will smell bad we cannot bathe them…
**If this does not work for you or your rescue please DO NOT ask me to tag an animal and leave that animal without a place to go!
