Urgent!! Blitzen Daviess County AC Owensboro KY *Rescued*

Rec'd the following email from Marissa with Daviess County AS~She also left me a VM message saying that Blitzen Needs to Get Out of the Shelter ASAP!!

PLEASE CROSSPOST! URGENT BORDER COLLIE AT HIGH KILL SHELTER!
Blitzen was brought in with 11 other dogs. She is a young adult but we do not have an exact age. The 90 year old father of the dogs' owner said they had too many. They are all very scared. Blitzen is the only one that looks like (or very close to) a pure-bred. She is VERY SKINNY, SCARED and need of immediate placement and TLC. If anyone can help, please contact Daviess County Animal control at 270-685-8275 or e-mail dcacanimals@yahoo.com. We do not know much about her, the person didn't give a lot of information.

Her heart is BROKEN, she is SKINNY, SCRAGGLY LOOKING and very SCARED. Blitzen came in with a group of 12 dogs whose owner turned them over because they had too many. She is going to need a lot of TLC but we think if she is given the chance, cleaned up, fed properly and loved, she will BLOSSOM. If you are interested in this pet please contact us as soon as possible!!

I have my home visit with Mid America on Saturday!!!! I would LOVE to help Blitzen.

Heard back from Elaine with Comebye who said she may have a foster , but needs more info ( re: Blitzen's medical history and a behavior evaluation ) , Blitzen would also have to get along with other dogs..( would hope she would , she was living with 11 of them Paws Crossed!!


****ETA Called the shelter. Blitzen gets along fine with other dogs,. She is timid, but can be petted ...They are going to worm her ,give her a bath and try and call the daughter to see if any additional info could be ascertained...Said Blitzen has about a week to get out since they know I am working on her...

Blitzen and Cutie are SAFE!! Will be vetted on Monday ( they will probably hold off spaying Blitzen though since she is so thin) and then they will both be headed to rescue later next week
