Panda, young female NE GA *Rescued*

New postby crazy cat lady on Fri Mar 16, 2012 7:33 am

Passing along e-mail. There are 3 photos which I cannot figure out to post. Beautiful dog, rough coat, traditionally marked, maybe slightly tri?, with either tipped or prick ears.

"Becky, a neighbor of mine, adopted Panda at 3 months old from a kill shelter in NE GA. She has turned into a very sweet girl, but is way too active for this working family. She is trying to do right by this very beautiful, sweet tempered active girl. Good with other dogs and children. Spayed and up to date on vaccines.

I am helping by taking her on Monday for the week to work some basic obedience with her, but I need to have her in a Foster or forever home by the weekend, Mar 24/25. I can transport anywhere within reason between Mar19-26. I am located in NE GA off I-85, 40 miles from SC line.

Please contact me, Janet Caldwell at bcdal58 @ yahoo.com, fidosadvantage @ yahoo.com, or 770-851-0295.

Thank you
Janet Caldwell

I am in touch with Janet and sharing Panda locally. Below are pictures of Panda. She is 11 months old, maybe 20", 35-40lbs, might be Baussie given her heavier bone? Will be getting more info on Monday regarding drive and biddability and will update with what I find out.

Someone has offered to foster Panda, but cannot take her until 4/16. So Panda would need temp foster, and ride to NC. She also said that she has been trying to get in touch with Janet, and never receives response. Molly, have you heard anything?

I've got a potential adopter for her depending on her suitability for sport. If either Janet or Molly can give an assessment of her temperament and drives, that would be awesome.

Unfortunately there's no way for me to go see her. I did get a bit more from Janet, not quite the detail I hoped for:

I have some one coming to see her on Saturday. I don't have time to take any video right now.

She is doing better in the crate. I gave her a bath today and she is like a different dog. She tolerated that ok and settled into it.

Her toy drive is there, but it is obvious that she wasn't played with much. It can be cultivated. She did well with cooked chicken for treats and was doing nice recalls to her name. I had her go over a jump a few times on recall and after a toy. She doesn't consistently bring it back to you, but doesn't run away when you go to get it from her. She walks nice on a leash and loose when she is by herself. Leash walking with other dogs, she pulls and tries to see them.
