Clare is a beautiful 6 month old Boarder Collie girl. She came into the shelter with a puncture wound and infection under her leg. She spent the weekend at the vet's office where she received IV fluids and antibiotics. She was released from the vet with oral meds and needs a special person to continue her care and healing.

Clare's looking for a loving, forever home, but would be very happy to have a temporary foster home for now. Please contact Ronni at 931-409-4691 or at the shelter during business hours at 931-761-3647.

Rescues needed!!
We are a very rescue friendly shelter and are in desperate need of rescues to pull! All dogs are given a DAPPv on intake as well as a three day course of Panacur. Once a stray hold has been released for a dog it will immediately be sent for it's rabies vaccine (if old enough) and all puppies over four months will also have their spay / neuter done. Pull fees are $75 and include all vetting. We are working on getting heartworm testing at the shelter and the additional cost will be $10 per dog tested.

For rescues that have pulled dogs and need to send payment in for vetting, please make checks payable to:
White County Trustee

Send payment to:

I spoke with Ronnie at the shelter. Claire does not have a full tail, she has a nub of a tail. The pull fee of $75 for rescues does include vacs, worming and spay. She will go in for her spay at the end of this week. If a rescue is interested they can get her before spay for no charge. Shelter does require a vet reference and copy of adoption contract to pull for rescue.

I will be glad to assist with transport if a rescue in the southeast can take her.

Thanks for calling and checking on her. I just received a forwarded email that originated with Ronni and describes how full this shelter is, so I'll post an excerpt from it, too. I have never worked with these folks before, so I don't have any first-hand experiences to share.

I'm off tomorrow and the Director is putting down four dogs while I'm gone. I've got until the end of the week to find safe places for at least four others or he'll be putting those down too. I'm desperate to get some help, please!

If you have any room or if you work with rescues that may have room, please let me know ASAP!!!

I've moved as many to foster homes as I can, so now dogs are going to start dying here. I've fought this battle hard and moved our euth rate to near zero, and now it's all coming apart and a lot of dogs are going to die. These are all highly adoptable dogs!! We don't have any dogs with aggression issues; I won't adopt them or send them to rescues.
