Pet Memo
I am a good dog with a tragic past. I was living in a home with 30 other dogs when we were surrendered to animal control for lack of proper care. But, like all dogs, I am forgiving. I just want a chance to show everyone that I won't look back, and only look forward. I am a border collie and will be about 45 pounds once I am healthy, but right now, I am skin and bones. A good diet and lots of love will go a long way in helping me heal my wounds on the outside and I just need someone to show me that love shouldn't hurt and leave me hungry. Please give me a chance...

OK, automap shows 13 hours for me.... One way

This is another one of those that "I need to help" dogs! Find me a place for her to land and I'll make it happen!

I'm probably a bit too far away for a landing spot, but I could send some funds your way towards her vet care, boarding, gasoline for a road trip, etc. Let me know.

Yep, 14 hours for me one way. I used to live in Santa Fe, and if I had a reason to go besides scoring some green chili, I would pick her up and transport. I know that doesn't help. I just wish I knew someone. All the dog lovers I knew there have moved away. But Santa Fe is a dog lovers town. Maybe a local rescue can pull and start transport....

Deb, Before you say that you are too far away for a landing spot, you might want to check with NorthStar BCR or BCRMN.(I`ve transported to both of them) I`ve been known to do some pretty strange things when a BC needs to get somewhere. I`ve moved a lot of dogs, I`ve never had one ask me " Are we there yet?". They all seem pretty happy to be going somewhere other than a shelter, no matter how long they have to ride.

Do we have anyone on the Board that could check on this girl and see how she is?

I read on their website that they have a program to transport puppies and dogs to rescues in Colorado? It's called "driving doggies". Maybe something could be arranged with that?

I'm working on an option in CO.

Please thank Sally for me! We'll see I might need her yet?

My schedule won't allow for a road trip right now, but the offer still holds for sending some funds---------

Got word from the shelter that Panda is very fearful, and going to be a work in progress.

On a good note, she has a lot of interest in adopting or fostering her. I was told she is in no danger of being put down.

Great news, Panda is going to Colorado! She is headed for Mt Dog Rescue, this is an all breed rescue that the board's own Karoline is highly involved in. I know Panda's foster mother personally, she will be in great hands!

I can't say enough good things about this shelter! Panda had some people come see her that were not a good fit, they worried that the people would send someone else in to adopt her. So, the director took Panda home to hang out with her Aussie while we worked on her rescue. :D

Panda had been waiting for the ride to Colorado till the wildfires slowed down. A family came in today and asked to adopt her, it sounds like they are a great fit.

I wish Panda all the best in her new life. Call Panda adopted! :D
