She is so cute and gorgeous. Who wouldn't want her? Hope she gets adopted!

As of 8:30am, still there. Very human friendly but not so much with dogs. It could be the shelter situation. She needs out. I shared it with all the BC groups I know of...so far no real bites. There are lots of people making half hearted "I'd take her until her person comes back" comments on FB but nobody has genuinely stepped up.

Per the shelter she is "extremely dog aggressive" , & very reactive when passing the other kennels though is great with people/food /toys ..They told me a BC Rescue is coming to evaluate her as is a couple with no other dogs ...They said they are trying hard to find her a home and as for urgency ,there is no set time frame > They euth for space and right now they have 12 dogs and can hold 35... BTW it was the parents who surrendered the dog , not the son who was getting deployed, he gave Nora to his parents. She is also Not spayed .(They called the owner's vet and checked)..

Per the Urgent OH FB page " Nora is SAFE- and is being Pulled by a Local Rescue"!!
Will call the shelter in the am to confirm ... I Heard back from Wanda with Buckeye BC Rescue an hour ago and she said that she is going to the shelter this week to evaluate Nora..

Is she really safe though? If the rescue is going to evaluate, that doesn't necessarily mean they will pull if they see something they don't like. Maybe on hold?

Spoke to the Deputy Warden at the shelter ( who is also named Nora . Per DW Nora , Nora the BC is not Safe yet , though she asked me Not to correct the FB page ( even though it says she is safe) as the shelter was getting deluged with calls . She said that they are not affiliated with the FB page at all and doesn't know where that person got the info that Nora was Urgent & going to be PTS. Anyway, was told that Wanda should be coming to evaluate Nora this evening and that the dogless couple that was potentially interested in adopting Nora has backed out.

Following is my evaluation of Nora:
She is not out of working lines. She carriers her tail curled up over her back. About 40-45#. I guessed her age to be 3 yrs. Medium energy level & easily over stimulated. She was indifferent, but friendly to me. More interested in her surroundings than me. Did not respond to any commands from me. I walked her through the kennels & she greeted dogs at their kennels as we walked through. I took her out to the empty 3 car garage & walked her around. Fudge, my neutered male entered the garage. He ignored her & went about sniffing. She immediately went to him w/hackles up & tail up over her back. All greetings were loose leash. He continued to ignored her. She sniffed him over & the hair came up all the way down her back. She became more aroused: ears upright, eyes wild, head & neck stiff, legs stiff. She went up towards his shoulders & put her head over his neck. Fudge continued to give her calming signals, did not challenger her & did not commit any reaction to her. I walked between them & into her space. She finally backed off & walked away. I worked with her for at least 30 minutes & she continued to approach Fudge looking for him to challenge her. On one of her approaches to Fudge, she escalated to initiate a fight & attempted to bite the back of his neck.

Nora was adopted from a shelter by her owner November 2011. Her history prior to that is not known. He attempted to introduce her to 2 family dogs, both males, on 3 occasions & she had the same reaction that I saw. When he had her in the public, he put a muzzle on her. Her reaction to other dogs is not shelter stress. She is dog aggressive & dog reactive. She was good interacting with people. After working her with Fudge, she was more receptive to my presence & responded to my commands & direction.
