Senior Border Collie at Daviess County Animal Control. Our volunteers gave her a bath today and tried to brush her a bit. This baby needs your help. If you know of any Border Collie Rescue's, please share. This dog has hardly any teeth and looking at the hair loss on its back, must have a thyroid issue.

All adoption fees include the spay or neuter, rabies vaccination, microchip and county license(dogs). Most dogs are given a parvo/distemper booster upon arrival at the shelter.
If you are interested in our pets please contact us as soon as possible. We take in approximately 5500 animals a year. Unfortunately we are a high kill shelter due to the amount of animals being brought to the shelter. If you are not local we can recommend transport services.

I've got no time to work on helping this girl. It's been over 102 the last three days here, and should be hotter the next five days. I'm working night and day to keep my seniors comfortable, and my crops alive!

Per shelter:

She is doing good.  Our volunteers have been working on cleaning her up.  She is on stray hold for a few more days but will need placement soon.

East TN has a senior program, Jill is always an old dog person, and I'm always looking. But I have no clue on anyone else?

There is the senior dog project in St. Louis.... http://stlseniordogproject.org/ Not sure if they just serve the state of Missouri, or accept dogs from other states or not. Also found http://sanctuaryforseniordogs.org/ which is near Cleveland, OH.
And this one, in Chicago, IL http://yahpetrescue.com/ which does say they rescue from other states.

Normally, I would be happy to help since I live between Owensboro and Nashville. But, unfortunately, I'm out of town through the weekend...just didn't want anyone to think I was overlooking this request, and very happy someone is stepping up for this girl!

Thank goodness someone is taking her in. She has been on my mind. Had I not already had a senior girl I would have taken her in a second.
