Spin --- (posted 3/18/03) --- Approximately 1 year old black and white rough coat female Border Collie. Spin's weight is approximately 43 pounds. Spin has not yet been spayed but must be prior to adoption (no exceptions!). Spin has been dewormed and vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP and kennel cough. Her heartworm status is unknown. Spin is housetrained and crate trained.

Spin is in rescue because she was found as stray and we pulled her from the pound. She is good with other dogs, strangers, and kids. We don't know how she might be with cats as we don't own any. Spin likes car rides and water, is learning Frisbee and would play fetch for hours. She would probably make a good flyball dog. Her working ability seems to be excellent.

Spin's worst behavior problem is that she will collect things in the bed if left uncrated during the day. Spin knows commands for "sit", "down", "come", "stay", "heel", a bathroom command and many more. This is a wonderful, A1 dog!

Spin is currently located in Nevada. We will also ship her if a home visit is done by another rescue.

If you are interested in adopting Spin, contact Samantha or Carol at C and S Rescue at 775-945-2032

Herbie --- (posted 1/31/03) --- Approximately 2 year old red and white semi-rough coat male Border Collie. Herbie's weight is approximately 35 lbs. Herbie is not neutered. Has been dewormed and vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP, and kennel cough. He currently on heartworm preventative, although his heartworm status is unknown. He also has an overbite. Herbie is somewhat housetrained.

Herbie's primary behavior problem is that he has too much energy and runs in circles all day. He is very smart...parimeter fences will not work with him. Herbie also loves to chew electrical wires, especially live ones. His fence is best kept away from any live electrical wires of any kind.

As a puppy Herbie was the only one of the litter who came up to us and insisted on our attention. He is a good dog and one that needs lots of love.

Diva --- (posted 1/10/03) --- Approximately 11 month old tri-colored smooth coat female Border Collie mix. Diva's weight is approximately 45 pounds. Diva has been spayed and is up to date on all her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and housetrained and crate trained.

Diva's picture

Diva is in rescue because she isn't getting along with the children in our household, ages 3, 8 and 9. Her nipping scares them and she has started running away whenever she gets a chance. When we chase her she gets scared and aggresssive. She has never hurt anyone but we fear that someday her superficial nipping might. She does have some additional problems with digging, chewing and submissive urination.

I have had Diva since she was 9 weeks old and she is truly a sweet, loving animal who just needs a quieter home with mature owners.

Diva is good with other dogs and cats. She likes playing fetch, chase and going for car rides. Her working ability is untested. Diva knows commands for "sit", "come", "drop it", "heel" and a bathroom command.

Diva is currently located in Fountain Valley, California. Click here for another picture of Diva . If you are interested in adopting Diva, contact Audrey Fernandez at (714) 843-5143

Bella's weight is approximately 45 pounds. Bella has been spayed, dewormed and vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP and kennel cough. She is heartworm negative and is currently on heartworm and flea preventatives. Bella is housetrained.

Bella's picture

Bella is in rescue because her present home and yard are too small and she needs someone who can give her more time. She is a sweet dog and eager to please. She needs a warm person who has time to give her exercise and attention. If you are a Border Collie lover, you will love this dog.

Bella is good with other dogs and strangers. It is not known whether or not she would be good with cats or children. She likes playing fetch but gets sick on car rides. Her working ability is untested. She does have some problems with digging, chewing (no furniture but a wicker basket, coasters and blankets) and chasing and nipping at my other dog's back legs for fun.

Bella knows commands for "sit", "down", "come" (not consistently), "stay", "heel" and a bathroom command.

Bella is currently located in Santa Barbara, California.

time on a short leash. He has had little training and needs a patient human but he seems very happy and full of life.

Mu Shu --- (posted 10/22/02) --- Approximately 1 1/2 year old mostly black (white chin with white stripe on belly) rough coat male Border Collie. Mu Shu's weight is approximately 60 lbs. He has been neutered and vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP and kennel cough, is heartworm negative and is currently on heartworm preventative. Mu Shu is housetrained.

Mu Shu's picture

Mu Shu is in rescue because he has become more than we can handle. He will try to attack other people when we are at the park and we do not trust him around small children, although he has never bitten anyone. We didn't realize he would have such strong protective/aggressive urges. Mu Shu does not seem to have adjusted to life in the city and we think he would be happier in the country where there aren't as many people around.

Mu Shu likes other dogs (unless they are aggressive), cats and our two children, ages 4 and 6. He does not like children he doesn't know and it takes him a long time to be comfortable with new people. Mu Shu also likes car rides, water, playing fetch and Frisbee. His working ability is untested but he is very intelligent and seems very easy to train. I think he would make an excellent working dog. Mu Shu has been through obedience training and knows commands for "sit", "down", "come", "stay", "off", "no", "heel", "catch" and a bathroom command.

Mu Shu does have some problems with jumping fences and digging but he generally tries not to. His only other behavior problem is his extreme protectiveness.

Mu Shu is a wonderful dog and we love him dearly. He is beautiful and smart but I don't think he can reach his full potential with us. We made the mistake of not researching this breed before we got him and I am worried that he will become neurotic or dangerous. We have had him since he was 6 weeks old and he has never been mistreated or abused. He had a difficult time as a puppy but he has a good life with us - a big yard, children who love him, lots of walks and lots of toys.

Mu Shu is currently located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Bonnie and Clyde --- (posted 6/21/02) --- Approximately 12 week old black and white semi-rough coat male and female Border Collie puppies. Both weigh about 20 pounds. They have not been neutered or spayed and will be adopted only with a neuter contract. They are up to date on their puppy vaccinations, have been tested heartworm free and are on Frontline Plus.

Pups' picture

Bonnie and Clyde were found and turned into a local shelter. The shelter operator suspects they are purebred Border Collies that were dumped by a nearby breeder because they believed they couldn't sell them. The problem with the pups is that they each have partial blindness in one eye. Their other eye is fine and the vet says the problem is nondegenerative, meaning that the good eye will not develop the same problem as the bad eye. I personally don't believe they are completely blind in the bad eye, as they don't seem to bump into chair legs, etc. when they are romping around.

Both Bonnie and Clyde have darling personalities, and are already crate trained. If taken directly from their crate to outside, they both quickly do their jobs and then are fine playing inside (my wife had to put her plants up though!!) I have already trained them to sit on command and they both seem very biddable. Other than their eyes, they are normal pups with lots of energy and curiosity, and need a loving home.

Bonnie and Clyde are located in Kansas. Click here for another picture of Bonnie & Clyde .

Dixie --- (posted 5/28/02) --- Approximately 3 year old black and white rough coat female Border Collie. Dixie's weight is approximately 50 lbs. Dixie is spayed and vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP, and kennel cough. She is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. Aside from being a little heavy for her size, she has no health problems. Dixie is somewhat housetrained.

Dixie is in rescue because our ability to provide a good home for her and our other dog has recently decreased significantly. Dixie is good with other dogs, strangers, kids and cats and likes water, car rides, and playing fetch. She was born on a ranch but her working ability is unknown/untested.

Dixie does have some problems with digging and submissive urination. Although she does not know any commands, she is very trainable. We haven't taken the time to train her but she learned to wait in a specified area of the house while our daughter eats dinner in one night.

Dixie is currently located in Nevada.

If you are interested in adopting Dixie, contact Nick Berens at 775-337-2092

Tank --- (posted 5/1/02) --- Approximately 1 1/2 year old black and white rough coat male Border Collie. Tank's weight is approximately 65 lbs. Tank is neutered, has been dewormed and vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP, and kennel cough. He is heartworm negative and currently on heartworm preventative. Tank is housetrained.

Tank is in rescue because he is too much to handle. He is good with other dogs and likes water and car rides. His working ability is unknown but he seems ready for training and needs work. He would be very good at agility training and jumps through hoops and goes down slides. Tank knows commands for "sit", "down", "come", and a bathroom command. He also will tag things and jump on command.

Tank has some behavior problems with jumping fences, submissive urination, chasing and nipping and dominance over humans. He is also overly protective of his yard.

Tank is currently located in California .
